I cannot believe it was still summer when I and Alanna from UK2Tokyo met for breakfast at Slappy Cakes Tokyo. I am so late in posting it here, guilty :|. Slappy Cakes is in Shinjuku and we went there for breakfast in August. It was my first time trying out this place and I loved it.
They offer so many options for breakfast, a variety of pancakes. I was so overwhelmed with the range. The major offering of Slappy Cakes is DIY pancake options, where they give you a batter of your choice (buttermilk, wholegrain or peanut butter) and toppings of your choice (dried cherries, chocochips, applesauce, peanut butter, etc.) on a table fitted with griddles (teppan). Isn't that awesome? You get to make your pancakes in your own pattern. It's a must place for pancake lovers and even if you're not a fan of pancakes (who is not), they still have a lot many options 😀
Their tea cups were huge!!!
I went for the pancake combo with blueberries, raspberry jam and lemon curd. It was yummy!!
Alanna took the peanut butter combo. 🙂
I had an awesome experience at Slappy Cakes Tokyo, it was so good. Now with the winters approaching, I bet this will be a perfect spot with warm griddles and yummy pancakes! Would love to go there again! 🙂
