Hey Everyone! I know it's been a long time since I last posted, just caught up with few things 🙁 So, I thought I will post up something sweet on the blog for you guys 🙂 I made these Chocolate-coated Banana Bites on our house-warming last month, and it was a huge hit, especially among the kids. It is a very simple and quick dessert, which I am sure your kid will also be able to make. Let's get started with the ingredients and then I will show you how to make this baby.
Ingredients (serves 2):
Bananas, chopped to bite sizes – 2 (I chopped one into 4 pieces, so total 8)
Mixed nuts, chopped – of your choice (walnuts, almond, raisins, pistachios, etc.)
Chocolate, crushed – 1-2 (depending on your preference you can use either sweet, semi-sweet or dark chocolate)
Choco chips – 3/4 cup
Olive oil – 1 tbsp
Skewers or tooth picks – 8
Start by peeling and chopping the bananas and inserting the skewers in them. Now arrange these on a freezer-safe plate and pop in the freezer for few hours (I froze them for about 4 hours). When it's about to be the time for them to be out, start preparing the coating. For this we will use a double boiler. It's pretty simple, just have a large pot half filled with water and bring to boil. Have another pot on top the large pot, now add olive oil to this followed by chocolates and lower the heat. Keep stirring and as soon as you see the chocolate starts melting and majority of it has melted, turn of the heat. Do not remove your pan from the double boiler, it will help in keeping it runny. Get your plate of bananas bites and start rolling them in this chocolate sauce, being quick or else the sauce may start to set. Follow the rolling in the sauce by sprinkling of the crushed nuts. Do this with all the banana bites and your banana bites are ready! Freeze them for some more time and take them out when you want to have them either with your family or guests.
