Make Up For Ever Mat Velvet #40 | Review

Make up for ever
Sharing my views on Make Up For Ever Mat Velvet foundation today. Of late, I have been wearing makeup more regularly than I used to couple of months back. With the changing weather of Tokyo — rainy season, humidity — my combination skin seems to have taken a toll. Somedays it's completely dry and I have to use something like this Bobbi Brown foundation. And on somedays, it's dripping oil and I have to switch to this MUFE Mat Velvet+ to keep everything in place. Make up for ever As you must now by now, I have combination skin, which is pretty oily at times. Also, I have a lot of acne scars and hyper pigmentation, which makes me look for high coverage and long staying foundations. If you are some one like me, with combination skin and are looking for a mat finish foundation or looking to try this one out then continue to read.

Make Up For Ever Mat Velvet+, Shade 40

Product Claims

The Mat Velvet + foundation conceals skin imperfections, evens out the complexion and matifies with a non-oily powdery finish. The result is flawless and lasts for hours long. Its smooth, fluid texture is very stable, water-resistant and long-lasting. While it has a good coverage, it is also easy to apply. The end result can be fitted to your needs. Applied lightly, Mat Velvet + provides a natural, matte look to the complexion. Using several layers to help conceal blemishes creates a supple and elastic velvety finish. This new oil-free and non comedogenic formula is suited to sensitive skins.

How to Apply

Pour a small amount of foundation onto a clean spatula and spread with the fingers or a dry sponge. Apply powder to set the foundation and increase both the wear time and matte effect on oily skins. In case of very oily skin, mix Mat Velvet + with a small amount of All Mat. Apply where needed or all over the face.  This formula is particularly rich and only a small amount of product is needed for optimum coverage. Mat Velvet + can be combined with other products for special effects (Stop Shining +, All Mat, Star Powder). Use with an airbrush, mix Mat Velvet + with silicone oil to bring more fluidity.

My Favourite Summer Foundation

My Experience

MUFE Mat Velvet+ comes is an oil-free, water resistant, medium to full coverage, mattifying foundation. It in a handy translucent plastic bottle with a nozzle like opening. As the name suggests, it is a mattifying foundation that's not just dead mat but has a healthy feel to it. It perfect for my acne prone skin also.
The formula is extremely good. It blends perfectly, like a dream onto the skin. It is medium to full coverage which is buildable, layer- by-layer. Although I feel the need to use my bare-minimum concealer due to my crazy acne scars, but if you are blessed with perfect skin you wouldn't need a concealer, believe me. It blends very easily with my flat top kabuki brush. It very long-staying, in the pictures I have been wearing it for around 10 hours. I don't feel the need to use setting powder on top of it. Make up for ever I absolutely love this foundation for my oily-skin days or for days when its too hot outside. It blends very quickly, so you don't have to work for it for hours. Although, you have to be a bit careful and apply it in sections as it tends to dry pretty fast. I take some amount on the back of my hand and then just apply it with my brush. Sometimes I also use a flat foundation brush, which also works well, but I find the flat top kabuki to be the best. I have tried it both with primer and without primer. On its own it lasts me for about 10-11 hours and with primer I have worn it for 14 hours. XD Make up for ever   It comes in a variety of 20 shades, and my shade in 40 Natural Beige. 40 Natural Beige is a medium beige with yellow undertones.
