NYX Butter Lipstick – Little Susie | Review, Swatches, Photos

Little Susie
As spring is already here I have been reaching out for more brighter and summer shades. When talking about summer shades my current favourite is this beautiful shade by NYX Butter Lipstick range called Little Susie. NYX Butter Lipstick Little Susie_1 NYX Butter Lipstick Little Susie_2 NYX Butter Lipstick_Little Susie_5 NYX Butter Lipstick - Little Susie Review Little Susie is a perfect shade if you are looking for a pink that can be easily worn during the day and night in the upcoming warmer months. It is a slightly warm-toned deep pink that looks great when I wear it by slightly dabbing instead of swiping on my lips, this way it gives the most natural looking stain. But of course that doesn't mean you can't wear it the good old way, you can! πŸ™‚ For me it is the perfect spring/summer shade as the colour looks so natural, neither too bright nor too subtle. When I feel the need to make it slightly bold I just apply-blot-reapply, line my lips with a lip liner and I'm done. It comes in a colour-coded packaging that makes it easy to choose from a bunch of lipsticks. Somehow it looks very dark in the pictures but in reality it is lighter and more subtle than how bold it looks in pictures. It has a very butter-y texture as the range name says which keeps the lips hydrated. It is among the very few lipsticks that I wear without a lip balm underneath and it doesn't dry out my lips. It feels very nice on the lips. The pigmentation is medium coverage, with a longevity of 3-4 hours or after you have meals. NYX Butter Lipstick_Little Susie_6 NYX Butter Lipstick Little Susie_3 What I like:
  • Color-coded packaging
  • Hydrating on the lips
  • Pretty pink that can be worn anytime of the day
  • Feel is very butter-y and light on the lips as the name says, you don't actually feel like you're wearing something on your lips
  • Great for no-makeup makeup looks or days when you don't want absolutely pigmented or matte lips
  • Have a healthy sheen to them
  • These are cruelty-free
What I don't like:
  • These are too butter-y to be true so I am always scared of them breaking by melting in warmer months πŸ™
  • Staying power could have been a bit better
  • Though it is not drying, it can still emphasise chapped lips if you have them
I got this one and a few other things from cherryculture.com when they had a lurking sale going on but this shade is sold out on their website now; however, they have huge discounts going on right now also so if you want to choose some other shades you can have a look at their website. πŸ™‚ Final Thoughts: This is a great lipstick that I love despite of few dislikes. It's great for days when you need natural makeup, which for me is almost always! I like to keep things simple and easy most of the times. Price: $5.91 Available at: amazon.com Will I repurchase: Of course if I am able to finish it off πŸ˜€ Rating (out of 5): Screen Shot 2015-04-08gj at 19.26.06   Have you tried this or any other shade from the NYX Butter Lipstick range? Thanks for stopping by!

  • Your pics are the best! I love the shade, I’m not a fan of too creamy lipsticks especially in summers.

    • Thank you so much Lana! I can totally understand what you mean but since the weather is still on the colder side here in Tokyo and will be pleasant till some time so I won’t mind wearing this. πŸ™‚ xx

  • Nice review! I saw NYX products in Osaka but so overpriced! This lip butter was for1200 Yen!!!

    • Thanks Prerna! They are equally overpriced in Tokyo as well, such a shame! πŸ™ xx
